Meet Katy & Jason
Founders of Texas Land Dream
For years, we carried a simple dream: to own a piece of land. A place where we could breathe deeply, grow our own food, and reconnect with the natural world.
Through hard work and careful saving, that dream became real when we purchased a small plot of land in right outside of Austin.
Since then, we’ve been building our homestead one project at a time. We started with a garden, then welcomed a dairy cow, added beehives, and eventually raised our own cattle and pigs. Each step brought its own challenges and rewards, slowly shaping the life we had always imagined.
Along the way, we discovered something important: self-sufficiency doesn’t begin with a plot of land, it begins with a state of mind. Living closer to nature is possible whether you have acres to roam or just a balcony for potted herbs. It’s about cultivating resourcefulness and rediscovering the deep joy that comes from creating with your own hands.
When we are in the garden, caring for animals, or cooking from scratch, we feel most alive and present. That is when life feels full, free from the noise of constant digital connection and the pull of convenience above all else.
This simple, intentional way of living has been our antidote to the emptiness of modern life, and it’s what we hope to share with you.
Our Vision of a Shared Journey
We started Texas Land Dream because it’s the resource we wished we had when we first began. When we dove into homesteading, we had no roadmap. We made plenty of mistakes, and learned everything the hard way. But through it all, we grew closer as a family, deepened our respect for nature, and discovered the beauty of living with intention.
Our vision is to create a living library of videos, how-to guides, and equipment reviews, a place you can turn to for real, honest help as you begin your own homesteading journey, no matter where you are.
We won’t just share the polished results. Instead, we’ll open up the raw, behind-the-scenes reality of our own projects, the failures, the breakthroughs, and the lessons we carry forward. Alongside our family journal, you’ll find honest reviews of the tools and equipment we rely on every day.
For us, this is more than a project. It’s a shared dream. It’s a growing community of people choosing to live with purpose, whether that’s on a hundred acres, a backyard plot, or a balcony garden.
We’re grateful you’re here, walking this path with us.
